THE
BIBLE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."
2 Timothy 4:2
The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under supernatural guidance by the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme and final authority for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error in the original autographs.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
Return of Christ
This is the Christian's "blessed hope", which has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. Jesus will physically return to earth to set up His kingdom, and there will be a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
We believe in The Holy Scriptures being the Word of God
given to man. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
are God-breathed, given by divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Holy men of God were vessels that recorded the Word as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures are infallible and authoritative, thus they are applicable to every facet of life
and experience.
We believe in One God, revealed in the Scriptures as:
(1) God the Father in creation, (2) God the Son in redemption,
and (3) God the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, Helper, Sanctifier
and Guide. The Self-existent Godhead is co-equal, co-eternal, co-existent, and immutable in attributes, nature, power and glory.
We believe in The Person of Christ: He is the God-Man, the
eternal Son of God, both human and divine—God manifest in
the flesh. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was
born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. Christ’s death on the cross provided the atonement for the sins of the world.
He is resurrected, has ascended into Heaven, and now sits
at the right-hand of the Father as our Intercessor. He is our
High Priest, the only Mediator between God and man.
One day our Lord will personally return in power and glory.
We believe that it is the work of the Holy Spirit who
regenerates fallen mankind, indwells, comforts, empowers,
teaches, guides and sanctifies all believers in Christ. He
also gives spiritual gifts and fruit.
We believe that salvation is provided through a saving
relationship with Jesus Christ alone. Because of sin,
man in completely incapable of saving himself, lost in
trespasses and separated from fellowship with God.
Salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned by man’s
works, but is provided by God’s grace, through the
atoning death (substitutionary sacrifice) of Jesus Christ.
Through repentance and faith in Christ, one’s relationship
is reconciled with God and He bestows the gift of eternal
life.
We believe in water baptism by immersion and the baptism
of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in divine healing, which is provided through faith
in Jesus Christ.
We believe in celebrating Holy Communion, commemorating
the Lord’s death on the cross and His sacrifice on our behalf.
